The first week of this digital photography class was definitely a little nerve-wracking. I came in with little to no knowledge or hands-on experience with cameras. It also wasn't helpful that the class was full of underclassman and only a small handful of seniors. Which is quite funny that I was most nervous about the taking of photos when I should have been most worried with how to not lose my mind when surrounded by underclassman yell-talking, screaming, laughing 24/7, singing at the top of their lungs, etc.
If you were to ask me what my worst photos of the trimester were, the answer is no doubtably my photos from the architecture. That was my very first week of going out and taking photos of the topic of my choosing. I had all these cool ideas of photos I could go out and take but there was one major problem, I was extremely lazy and I had no idea what I was doing! After seeing the final results of the week of architecture photos, I promise myself to try harder in the coming weeks and try to plan and execute said plans efficiently. The main reason the photos are so bad is because some are cropped poorly, some are too busy, some it isn't sure what my subject is, etc. The list of flaws can go on but I'll just insert that week of photos below and you can see for yourself.
One of the best feelings in this class is when after you upload a photo you've taken and photoshop it, you're truly happy with the outcome. Looking through all the photos I've taken this year, the photos that make me the most proud are all of either animals or nature. I truly love taking photos of animals. They may not take directions as well as humans do but their personalities can shine through the photo and I think that it's beautiful. They are my favorite photos because I think the way the colors, filters, and framing of the photos really enhance each of them. Since I'm showing you my worst photos below, I'll insert my best photos as well so you can see I'm not the worst photographer in the world.
Overall I've learned a lot this trimester abut the composition of photos, the functions and features of cameras, and how to effectively use photoshop. Even if I don't go into photography as a profession I know I will forever keep the information I've learned in this class with me because photography is an everyday thing for me, even if it's just on Instagram or Snapchat.
