Aperture: My goal for the following photos was to demonstrate how the changing of aperture would affect the depth of field of the photos. I think it definitely shows in the photos that as the lower the number is, the shorter the depth of field will be, and the higher the number, the more clear the background will be.
Shutter Speed: Although these photos didn't turn out perfect, I do think they definitely get my point across. The higher the number is, the more light is being let in. That's why when I had Mason shake his head back and forth really fast, the more clear photos are the ones that were taken with a fast shutter speed that didn't let in a whole lot of light and took the photo quickly.
What I learned: Large Aperture: Allows for the whole frame to be in focus: both the subject and the background. Small Aperture: Focuses in on the subject and softens the background causing the eyes to be drawn to the main focus. Fast Shutter: Lets in small amount of light and freezes a moment in time. Allows you to capture a moment of motion in a relatively clear photo. Slow Shutter: Lets in a lot of light but causes a motion blur on/behind the moving object. |
